💰 How far does your money go?

A Singha beer at a local bar costs around €1.50. A plate of pad thai from a street vendor: under €2. A full dinner at a proper Thai restaurant with two courses and a drink rarely tops €8. That’s less than an aperitivo at a Navigli bar, and it’s not even close.

☀️ Weather in Bangkok in June

June falls in Bangkok’s wet season. Temperatures sit at 30–33°C through the day with high humidity. Afternoon rain showers are frequent: heavy, but usually short. Evenings are warm and often clear. Pack light clothing and a small umbrella.

🏨 Where to stay

Three solid options across different budgets.

Compass SkyView Hotel — 8.3/10 · From €55/night
A Sukhumvit address with a rooftop infinity pool and included breakfast. Excellent value for a central Bangkok location.

Amara Bangkok — 8.7/10 · From €75/night
A polished four-star in Silom with a rooftop pool, spa and well-reviewed on-site restaurant. A favourite with people who come back more than once.

Mandarin Oriental Bangkok — 9.2/10 · From €350/night
On the banks of the Chao Phraya since 1879. Multiple Michelin-recognized restaurants, butler service and one of the finest addresses in Asia.

🎯 What to do

Temples, canals, street food and one of the most chaotic, beautiful cities on earth.

Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew — Bangkok’s most iconic landmark. The sacred Emerald Buddha sits at its centre. Arrive early to beat the heat and the crowds.

Wat Arun — The Temple of Dawn rises from the west bank of the Chao Phraya. Climb the central prang for wide river views. Entry costs around €5.

Yaowarat (Chinatown) — Bangkok’s Chinatown district comes alive after dark. Street carts, grilled seafood, roasted meats and fresh fruit everywhere. Go after 7pm.

Long-tail boat through the klongs — A 90-minute ride through Bangkok’s canal network shows a different city entirely. Quieter, older, and nothing else in Bangkok feels quite like it.

🗺️ Where to go from here

Bangkok is Thailand’s main hub. The rest of the country opens up from here.

Chiang Mai — One hour by domestic flight. Thailand’s northern capital, ringed by mountains, temples and jungle. A completely different pace to Bangkok.

Koh Samui — An hour and a half by air. Warm water, beaches and restaurants. A Gulf of Thailand island that works for both relaxation and exploring.

Phuket — 1 hour 20 minutes by domestic flight. Thailand’s largest island, with Patong for nightlife and quieter spots for anyone who looks for them.

Ayutthaya — 90 minutes north by train. The ancient capital of the Kingdom of Siam, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site full of temple ruins and open-air history.

Ten hours direct. Zero connections. Bangkok in June for €686. Not many cities offer this kind of return on a flight.
