Changi Airport has been voted the world's best airport more than ten times in a row. It is also the first thing you will see after eleven non-stop hours from Vienna. Scoot is currently selling return tickets from €569 for departures across autumn and into December.

💰 How far does your money go?

A hawker centre meal costs around €3.50. That is less than a coffee at a Viennese Kaffeehaus. Chicken rice, laksa, nasi goreng, all from stalls with queues of locals out front. That queue is the only quality signal you need. A Tiger beer at a local coffee shop runs around €5. You can eat and drink well every day for under €25. The city feels expensive until you learn where locals actually go.

☀️ The weather

September is Singapore's best month in this window. Temperatures sit at 28–31°C with roughly 14 rainy days, mostly short afternoon showers. October gets progressively wetter. November is the peak of the northeast monsoon, with 257mm of rainfall and frequent heavy downpours. December sees the highest monthly rainfall total but fewer rainy days overall. If dry days matter most, September is the clear pick. The heat and humidity stay constant throughout: above 30°C and above 80% humidity all season.

🏨 Where to stay

Singapore has options at every price point, from capsule hotels in heritage shophouses to five-star towers above the bay.

Cube Boutique Capsule Hotel at Boat Quay · 9.1/10 on Booking · From €77/night A beautifully designed capsule hotel inside a restored heritage building in Boat Quay. The location is one of the best in the city for exploring on foot.

Citadines Connect City Centre Singapore · 8.7/10 on Booking · From €128/night Modern serviced apartments right in the centre of the city. The right pick for travellers who want space and flexibility without paying full hotel prices.

The Clan Hotel Singapore · 9.0/10 on Booking · From €261/night A refined, contemporary luxury hotel in the heart of Chinatown. Exceptional service, strong design and consistently one of the highest-rated stays in the city.

🎯 What to do

Singapore rewards slow exploration. Four things to put on the list.

Gardens by the Bay: The Supertrees are best at dusk during the light and sound show. Free to walk around the grounds, paid entry for the climate-controlled domes.

Night Safari at Mandai Wildlife Reserve: The world's first nocturnal zoo, with guided tram rides through 40 hectares of parkland. Genuinely unlike anything else.

Maxwell Food Centre: One of the best hawker centres in the city. Come hungry, share a table with strangers, and work through the stalls methodically.

Clarke Quay: The colonial-era riverside district that becomes the city's nightlife hub after dark. Dozens of bars and restaurants across five warehouse-style blocks.

🗺️ Where to go from here

Singapore is Southeast Asia's best-connected hub. Use it as a starting point.

Bintan Island: One-hour ferry from Tanah Merah terminal. White-sand beaches, clear water and far fewer crowds than Bali.

Kuala Lumpur: Under two hours by flight. The Petronas Towers, the Batu Caves and some of the best street food in the region.

Bali: A short flight south. The rice terraces, temples and coastal towns around Canggu and Ubud are a world away from Singapore's intensity.

Langkawi: Two-hour flight to Malaysia's duty-free island. Beaches, mangrove forests and dramatically lower prices than back on the mainland.

Scoot does not fly non-stop from Vienna to Singapore often at this price. September is the best month in this window. Pick a date, add a few nights in Bintan or an onward flight to Bali, and make the trip count.
