💰 How far does your money go?
A bowl of beef noodle soup costs €4.50–7.50, a full sit-down meal rarely tops €11. A local beer at a night market stall runs €3–4, less than half of what a pint costs on a Södermalm terrace. Even a taxi across town barely dents a day's budget here.

Taipei in late August and September is hot and humid, 32–34°C by day with the occasional typhoon passing through, so pack light. By November it cools to a pleasant 22°C during the day and 17°C at night, dry and clear. December drops further still, 18°C by day and 12°C after dark, cool enough for a light jacket but far from Stockholm winter.

Shilin Night Market: Taipei's biggest night market, hours of street food, games and stalls until midnight.
Beitou hot springs: Natural volcanic baths in a quiet valley just 30 minutes from downtown, unlike anything else in the city.
